How to change a login box to a user profile after login using Visual Studio?

So I am in the process of building a website on Visual Studio professional 2013. I have a login box set up at the top of the page. Once a user is registered their details get stored in a database. So when they click login, I want their profile to appear instead of the login box. How do I do this? Also, if anyone knows how to do something similar using facebook login, that would help too.
