I am looking to for ways to implement an Invite Friends feature for my mobile-only game made on Cocos2d-iphone using Spritebuilder for iOS.
The thing is, I want to be able to invite friends who are not yet playing my game without having/using a Canvas. For now I am only able to retrieve a list of friends already playing the game because of the lack of Canvas Presence.
Facebook's API v2.2 states that I need my app to have a "Canvas Presence" in order to use the "invitable_friends" API. I have researched and searched everywhere for an answer but I can't find anything.
I have seen some games that are able to do this, one of these games don't even have a "user_friends" permission.
To name some of these games;
- World of Warriors - No Canvas, even has a custom friend selector for invites
- Cooking Fever - No Canvas as well. Screenshot of Implementation and App Permissions
Any ideas how they did this without a Canvas Presence on Facebook.com?
